Tammy Tangent Tuesdays
Hello Beautiful! It’s that time again; it’s Tammy Tangent Tuesdays! I pray you’re having a blessed week so far and are embracing your worth and value from the benefits of last week’s challenge in being kind to ourselves. It’s kind of hard letting go of that perfectionism and giving ourselves a break, huh? I know this one all too well when my draft published before being polished. For those of you that received my rough draft last night by email, forgive me! Now you can see why it is called a draft.
The beauty in being kind to ourselves and letting go of perfectionism is in knowing that our Amazing Creator smiles with great joy and satisfaction knowing His beautiful daughters are remembering that beauty exists in the mind of the Be-Loved and Be-Held! What a blessing it is to be kind to ourselves while being honest and gracious in being imperfect Be-loveds that are lovingly Be-Held!
I know we did a Gratitude Wall back in June, but with my church focusing on a month-long gratitude challenge and last week’s Tammy Tangent Tuesdays’ challenge in being kind to ourselves, I felt this was a good time to revisit this encouragement to help prepare our hearts and minds for the upcoming holiday season. So many of us Beloveds collapse when Christmas gets here (oh, how I know this one all too well) due to the festivities, shopping, cooking, wrapping, serving others, etc. (Just thinking about it is making me anxious already :-(.)
So I thought if we could take this time until we bring in the New Year with challenges specifically geared towards our very own hearts and souls, we will be doing ourselves a greater service, not to mention our families, but our communities as well because we will continue to be filled with the joy that unleashes that inner beauty that resides within and easily sprinkle an outpouring of love by illuminating His grace and light.
This weekly challenge requires dedication and effort, especially if life has brought on unexpected challenges, tragedies and struggles, but it will help turn our wailing into a dance as we waltz and rejoice with hearts clothed in joy. I truly believe we can always find a handful of items that we’re grateful for on a daily basis that will remind us that beauty arises from the ashes and help provide that gentle reminder to focus on such things that are true, noble, pure, and lovely, or even admirable (Philippians 4:6).
Let’s try and write them down in our journals or on a piece of paper (journal wall) and keeping it accessible in a frequented place like in our Bibles, on our refrigerators or even in our cell phones (or the bathroom mirror ♥) as a gentle reminder to help transform our hearts and minds to a place that transcends all understanding. Being grateful is powerful medicine and a great sustainer and healer!!!
This weekly challenge is to write down seven items each day on your journal wall that you’re grateful about for seven consecutive days. They cannot be repeated again once you’ve listed them as an item you’re grateful for. At the conclusion of this challenge, this will remind you of forty-nine reasons why you’re grateful and it will help rejuvenate your downcast soul. Remember, give thanks to the Lord, for His love endures forever (Psalm 136:1).
Tender hearts, let’s never lose sight of the fact that no matter what happens here this side of heaven, our future, which is our eternal destiny, is built on the most amazing and solid foundation that can never be shaken, destroyed or taken away from us (Hebrews 12:28). And as James 1:17 reminds us, “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” We have a lot to be grateful for!!!
Until next time, never forget…
