  • DAY 11 — WHEN OLD TRAUMA REACTIVATES

    December 19, 2025
The holidays activate old trauma: voices, memories, smells, traditions, people.

Your body remembers what your mind tries to bury.

You’re not “overreacting.”
You’re reliving.

And God promises presence—not avoidance—through the fire

    When Old Trauma Reactivates

    Day 11

“When you walk through the fire…”

    —Isaiah 43:2

    Narrative:

The holidays activate old trauma: voices, memories, smells, traditions, people.

Your body remembers what your mind tries to bury.

    You’re not “overreacting.”
    You’re reliving.

And God promises presence—not avoidance—through the fire.

Supporting Scripture: Psalm 32:7; Psalm 23:4

    Questions:

    1. What memory is resurfacing?
    2. What reaction surprised you?
    3. What do you need to feel safer?

    Prayer:

Lord, quiet my body. Heal the memories that still shake me. Walk with me through the fire. Amen.
