Hello beautiful! It’s Tammy Tangent Tuesdays!! Since I can appreciate the depleted and tired hearts and minds from all the preparations that went into the festivities with celebrating our glorious Risen Savior, this weekly challenge is to have the courage to be the Beautiful You along with a whole lot of kindness! ♥♥
This weekly challenge is going to be no easy feat! It will be a lot more challenging than it seems (just ask Cinderella)! This is going to require the courage to be kind to ourselves so we can embrace the beauty that lies within! ♥ With the extra demands placed on our already overwhelmed and busy lives, it’s going to take a delicate balance between prayer (meditation) and practice (action) in claiming the courage to be kind to ourselves.
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to be kind to others while being so critical of ourselves as we compare what others are doing or look like from our own perceived expectations? Have the courage to declare you’re going to have kindness in loving on yourself while acknowledging how you’re designed to be unique and oh-so-beautiful ♥♥just the way you are! No comparison allowed!
This week might require extra attention due to the frustrations that might develop as you purposefully acknowledge the need to be kind to yourself. Every time you find yourself living in your old neighborhood (your mind) and listening to your old tapes, have the courage to vacate those premises immediately that lead you to be so hard on yourself. Take advantage in being as courageous as a lion in making peace with being Beautiful You while not expecting perfection; you are equipping yourself with the courage to let everyone see the Beautiful You, all because of your kindness…….to yourself! ♥
How about being kind to yourself with taking some time out just for yourself this week, if possible, to share a cup of coffee with your girlfriends to decompress, share a passion or two, or grab a couple of friends to pray for the courage to be the kind and the Beautiful Beloved that you are! Have the courage to be a true friend to yourself first and then others; fill your mind and heart with thoughts that are true and beautiful (Philippians 4:8) and praiseworthy (like you♥) so you can experience the kindness that is necessary to create and nurture your soul!!! This all starts with the courage and kindness in loving the Beautiful You that you are, Beloved!
Every new change and mindset requires courage. It’s hard to change the way we see ourselves and what we think, say or do. My favorite scripture regarding courage is to meditate on the wonderful words of wisdom written in the book of Joshua (talk about somebody who needed courage, conquering a new land (new life) leading over two million people, yikes!), because it reminds us how the task ahead will be hard so it will require the courage and dependance on God. Joshua 1:5-9 (NIV) says: “Be strong and courageous…be strong and very courageous…Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” This passage states “courage” three times. It takes a lot of courage to change our mindset through meditation and action!!!
A great passage to also unleash the kindness within you is located in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 because it’s part of what true Love is: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud…” (pride promotes the SuperWoman mentality) and Proverbs 11:17, “A kind man benefits himself, but a cruel man brings trouble on himself.”
I’m praying for you to have the courage to be kind to yourself in this weekly challenge while remembering to love on yourself. If you would like prayer, please send me a request and I would be honored to pray for you. ♥
♥♥ Have an amazing and blessed week, Beautiful! ♥♥
